Springtime is blooming
with new ways to become involved in one or more of the church’s
ministries..... 1.
The Board of Trustees is looking for those who enjoy outdoor gardening
and plant care to be a part of the Memorial Garden Committee. With a bit of spring
cleaning and some tender loving care this is a wonderful chance for a
ministry of creating a place of peace and beauty. 2.
Pastor Fred is the person who makes the calls for readers of
the Scripture Lesson on Sunday morning. He would be happy to begin a list of names
of those who would want to engage in this ministry to us all. Please call the church office at 882-4922
weekdays from 9 - 1. Habitat for Humanity normally meets on the
last Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m., in our Fellowship Hall. Helping hands and hearts are always welcome
at these meetings. MAY ... All Sundays Book Study Group 9:45 a.m. The Adult Class meets on Sunday morning at
9:45 a.m. They are currently reading
Peter Gomes’ book entitled, “The Good Book.” A book is available in the church office or
you are most welcome to come simply for the discussion, which is always
challenging and stimulating. All Tuesdays Prayer Shawl Knitting 1:00 p.m. We gather to knit Prayer
Shawls. Completed shawls will
either be given to members and friends of our church community or sent to
Hope Lodge in CHANGED - All Wednesdays
Bereavement Group / Barn

Munson Health Care. All who are
grieving a loss are welcome
to attend this free support group. The Bereavement Group has changed their meetings to The Gathering
Place in Honor on Tuesdays at 6pm. All Thursdays Chancel Choir
Rehearsal 7:30 p.m. If singing brings you joy, you are
encouraged to join us. Happy voices are always
welcome and greatly appreciated! Our church building is the meeting
location of two AA groups weekly and one Project Rehab group.
There is a Women's AA on Tuesday
evenings at 7:00 in The Barn. A mixed group (both men and women) meets at
noon on Wednesdays in the church Library. The Project Rehab meeting is on
Thursdays and begins at 5:30 p.m. in The Barn. Opportunities are many for getting involved in the ministries of our church. Volunteers are needed
for coffee hour after each
service. Flowers for the altar are another way to be involved – sign-up
sheet is outside the office door. Join
a circle group of the Women’s
Fellowship, sing in the choir,
work with Sunday School classes or in the nursery. We also have a number of senior members
who would greatly appreciate a ride to
church. If none of the above fit
your personal needs or time allowances, call Fred and ask how you may become
more involved with your family at Benzonia Congregational, UCC. There will be a way! |

Our Church Food Pantry is open on Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 12:30. Grocery items are given to those who request help. The only questions asked are: name, address and number of people in the family. The demand has been very high in the past months. Therefore, the supply of items on our shelves is very low. We have had numerous requests for personal hygiene items and would appreciate any donations. Contributions of non-perishable food items are always appreciated, as well as cash donations. Many families contribute their excess foods and supplies to the Pantry when cleaning out their shelves and cupboards in their cottages before leaving the area at the end of their vacations. Your help will be gratefully accepted. Please call 882-4922 for more information. The pantry is open the days and times listed; donations are accepted at any time. The church has designated the first Sunday of every month as B.I.G (Bring In Groceries) day and your participation in that is also very welcomed. |
